Thank you Knights for your flexibility through a tough and stormy week! This week’s weather looks much better for our upcoming contests!!!!!
Thank you to the students who gave up lots of time last week to participate in the TASB performance on Friday. It was a phenomenal day and CCISD was represented really well! Congratulations on a solid performance.
A special thank you to ALL of our parent volunteers from these past weeks. We cannot function without your help. Thank you also to the EXTRA hands that helped at halftime. More hands are always better! We will need extra help for props, Friendswood Marching Contest, our Monday rehearsal on September 23rd, and we are in need of 12-18 helpers for the Gulf Coast Contest on October 12th.
Notes for Parents and Students
Tomorrow, Monday September 23rd, is our stadium rehearsal at Challenger. We board the buses at 5:00 pm. We will not feed the students for this event. They may leave after school and come back to meet us to ride the bus. Rehearsal times are 5:30-8:00 pm.
Our first contest is Friendswood Marching Festival this weekend. We will release the itinerary for Galena Park later this week. We try not to send out more than one at a time to avoid confusion. We may post a link to all contest outlines, but please stay tuned…..
We will be wearing full uniform for the last part of the Monday’s stadium rehearsal. Students please wear the “band underwear” (green dri fit, LONG black socks, band shoes, thinner black shorts) for this rehearsal. The buses are due to return back around 8:45 pm. Students are STRONGLY encouraged to do homework in the down time from 2:30-5:00 pm before rehearsal.
This Friday Sept. 27th will be when grades are closed for the six weeks. Per UIL guidelines, students must be passing on the six weeks grade check to participate in any UIL sanctioned activity. Students who are not eligible can lose eligibility beginning next week on the October 4th game and contests all the way to the day before UIL. Please have your student check their skyward DAILY to ensure they are passing. The next grade check will happen right before our last contest. Our goal is 100% passing for all of our students.
We will send out information regarding the Spring Trip to Dallas out soon as well. Our original date had to change due to prom.
